I’ve have a very busy few days – way too much paperwork!
Yesterday I drove to what seemed like the other side of the planet – hitting pockets of dense rainfall. Why is it whenever I need to drive long distances it usually turns out to be in heavy rain or near blizzard conditions? Anyway, the drive back was almost entirely in this dense rain – I turned my hazards lights on and drove 35 mph (on the highway) – behind me was a group of at least 5 who followed my lead with the hazards and the 35 mph. I did this for at least 20 of the 75 miles I drove (this is much more driving than I am used to).
While meeting with an individual yesterday she told me about her incredible summer volunteering. She said something that made me stop and think. I’m still pondering it, and thought I would share it with the rest of you:
Rarely in nature is there scarcity – the earth is plentiful, abundant, extravagant and generous. Scarcity, for the most part, comes out of man-made greed and fear.
Yes, there are areas where food and water are in demand – where these areas always like this? I know that as a unit we have more than enough to go around – some countries just consume more than needed (I’m guilty of participating in that group) while others do without. Why must we be “us” and “them” – when as “we” there is no need for folks to go hungry?
Back to the paperwork of the day.
Peace, Love and Chocolate to all!
