OK- as I mentioned last month I used the air conditioning (a/c) a few days. When I got my electric bill a day or two ago my usage was up 58% from the previous month. WOW! I never imagined using the a/c for a few days would do that much damage.
I have all my numbers since I began posted on the page “Riot 90% Reduction Progress” (see top of page to navigate). I have taken the Average Annual American Household (AAAH) figures from the Riot for Austerity site and divided by 12 to arrive at 917 as the Average Monthly American Household number.
Here is the info for my ELECTRIC usage so far:
July: My July reading of 308 kwh was down…
…66.4% from the national average.
…36.23% from my own usage 12 months ago.
August: My August reading of 282 kwh was down…
…26 kwh from previous month.
…69.25% from the national average.
…56.62% from my own usage 12 months ago.
September: My September reading of 446 kwh was…
…UP 164 kwh from previous month.
…down 51.36% from the national average.
…down 22.30% from my own usage 12 months ago.
Three-Month Usage: My usage for July, August & September was 1,036 kwh. This is…
…down 62.34% from the national average
…down 39.31% from my own usage 12 months ago.
My goal is not to beat myself up for my last month’s usage, but to see that even though it was up from the previous months it was down from the average household and more importantly, it was down from my own usage a year ago.
Progress not perfection (I have to keep reminding myself of this).
