A few days ago I filled my gas tank, and now my monthly usage (based upon gas purchased during the month) is at the highest it has been since I started the Riot for Austerity (R4A) almost three months ago. The purchase puts me at 31.44 gallons for the month – significantly higher than my previous two months of 21.44 gallons and 14.33 gallons.
My electric bill showed the highest usage I’ve had since I started the R4A – 446 versus the previous two months of 282 and 308.
We have just finished the great fresh veggie season, and I don’t think I have had any fresh fruits or vegetables in the past month. I’m just not sure why…
Even my garbage output has increase to a bag to a bag and a half a week. Grant it much of it is “wet” newspapers from my dog, and plastic bags (yes, I said plastic) full of the “trail of turds” picked up from around my house – also from my 14-year-old dog.
I must say that I am not feeling very good about my carbon footprint this month.
I try and say “progress not perfection”, but I’m not feeling like I have made much progress this month.
Has anyone else hit a bad month?
