On Sunday the sun finally appeared (what an appropriate day) and bounced off all the snow we received the previous few days, and there was light – bright, glorious LIGHT! [Insert Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus here!]
The last few days I have been washing every piece of fabric in my house suitable for the washing machine to get rid of the smell from the fireplace when the flue didn’t get opened. I wasn’t too worried (I guess I had gotten used to it) but then a friend told me that I really, really smelled like smoke, I decided I had to do something about it. I can only imagine was a “fresh” nose would smell if it were to enter my house. Anyway, so goes the electric consumption for the month… two steps forward, one step back.
Although it is just the middle of the month, it feels as though the year is sprinting to an end, and I am anxiously awaiting the newness of another year: of starting over, making changes, and being more proactive. While many are preparing for Christmas, I am looking forward to the New Year, and working on the housecleaning, so that when the first arrives it really will be a clean start!
