Eight inches of snow has blanked the area. Just after noon yesterday it started to snow – softly at first, then a little denser, until is was difficult to see. I watched it all from inside my warm (50 degrees) house. I love snow. I just love the glistening, white, clean blanket of snow – it makes everything so bright and fresh.
The snow plow hasn’t been through the area yet. My next door neighbors to the East have all left for work. All three in the household have 4WD trucks. One nice factor to the plow not clearing our street… there is no pile of snow at the end of the drive. I work from home, so I don’t have to drive in it until this evening when I leave for a friend’s birthday event.
I’ve had a fire in the fireplace for the last several days. The dead tree limbs (large!) I’d cut up for firewood last spring have lasted through this winter, and I still have roughly half a cord left. From time-to-time I go outside and take the wheelbarrow and fill it with logs, then set it right outside my studio door. That way all I have to do is open the door and grab a few logs for the fire.
Time to go out and shovel for a little while.
Enjoy your day!
