I just got tagged for a meme 🙂 I was tagged by Erin the ‘Burbanmom at Going Green who blogs about the steps she has taken to lighten her footprint on the planet – then tells the rest of us how hard or easy it is to do the same – usually with a good deal of humor. Thanks for the tag.
Below are the rules as they were presented to me:
Archive Meme Instructions: Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. … but there is a catch:
- Link 1 must be about family.
- Link 2 must be about friends.
- Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are… what you’re all about.
- Link 4 must be about something you love.
- Link 5 can be anything you choose.
I think this is a great way to circulate some of the great older posts everyone had written, return to a few great places in our memories and also learn a little something about ourselves and each other that we may not know. Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be *newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better….and don’t forget to read the archive posts and leave comments!
Link 1 – Family – I don’t have family in the sense that I have a spouse and kids or parents and siblings – I have chosen family. I can only find one post where I mention my chosen mom at any length, and that is “One Day at a Time,” which, grant it, is still mostly about me.
Link 2 – Friends – I don’t talk about my friends much on this blog – primarily because they think I’m a little “off” for blogging and participating in the Riot for Austerity. Usually when I mention friends it is because they have called me to make sure I haven’t frozen to death and to tell me it is ok to turn up the temp in my house (or turn on the a/c during the very hot summer.) I did do a post about a few of my close friends in “What Others Are Doing.” And one in particular in “Happiness is Having an Anal-Retentive Friend.” I know that is two – but I’ve been known to break the rules from time-to-time if they don’t suit me 🙂
Link 3 – Me – Part of what I am trying to help myself understand by blogging is my connectedness to the outside world. I live and work is solitude. In “Environment and Spirituality,” a piece I wrote for my church newsletter, I try and connect the two for myself.
Link 4 – Something I Love – “Comfy Cozy Quilts”
Link 5 – Free Choice – The Thanksgiving Prayer I wrote for “In Thanksgiving” and the follow-up “Let Me Walk In Beauty” are my two favorites. And I still access “I’ll Miss You Mandy” when I need a cathartic cry.
I’m a stealth blog reader – very rarely leaving comments. But here are a few of my favorite sites. I’m gonna tag:
Tobey at “Houston’s Pirate Cove.” She is a multi-talented lady who shares short stories she’s written, art she’s created, and her life in general. The woman lives six houses down the street from me, and I still need to access her blog to find out what she’s doing.
Tag to Theresa at “Pondering the Myriad Things,” one of my daily blog reads. The sub-heading on her blog says it all: “One day I woke up and considered myself part of the planet instead of just living on the planet. Now what?”
Tag, also, to “Barefoot in the Garden,” another one of my daily reads. She is from Minnesota, which is where I was born and lived for 20 years, and still miss from time-to-time (usually during the summer). Besides, walking barefoot in the garden is one of my favorite things. She plays music on her site, so if you are accessing from work you might want to turn the volume off.
Tag, Willow at “Contemplating Change.” Always lots of beautiful photos. Sharing of observations.
