As I struggle through the ups and downs of my environmental quest
to do want I need while still trying to use less.
I happened upon some incredible stuff;
that does so much without a cost that is tuff.
Plastic is evil and doesn’t break down in the dump;
Baking soda comes packaged in recycle-able pulp
In the kitchen BS makes breads expand so fluffy and light;
in the bath it eliminates the soap scum that on the tub is a fright.
It makes the fridge smell oh so sweet;
and stops the carpet from smelling like stinky feet.
It makes my teeth all squeaky clean;
and rids the smell on the cook’s hands after preparing the onion-garlic almandine.
It cleans the refrigerator and eliminates the stink;
and calms the hangover when used as a drink.
Used on my pits as a deodorant it rocks;
when used in the wash it helps clean the socks.
In the cat’s box BS just works like a dream;
in the shower it cleans and scrubs my skin sparkling clean.
In the kitchen this powder will squelch a small grease fire;
on the dog, as a dry wash, no groomer to hire.
It scrubs pots and pans, and your oily garage floor;
go get some more, it is found at every store.
To avoid plastic packed shampoo I could use BS in my hair;
but I haven’t use it yet – not that others should care.
So, for environmental, economic and social reasons;
baking soda has uses in all kinds of seasons.
